agreement for the engagement of the Resident

Engineer, with the exception of (a) the

deletion of the words "or other duly authorised

officers" in Clause I of the agreement and

Clause 2 of the Schedule, and (b) the

insertion of the words "with the concurrence

of the Consulting Engineers" in Clause 8 (1)

of the Schedule.

The Resident Engineer will be in the

position of the Head of the Department, and the

Hong Kong Govt. must be in a position to

communicate direct with him on local matters

instead of through the Consulting Engineers in this

country.

The S. of S. also concurs in the

suggested amendments to the draft agreements

for the engagement of the subordinate staff,

subject to the substitution of the words

"Resident Engineer" for the words "Head of

his Department" or "Head of his Department

or other duly authorised officers
